A SIMPLE, POWERFUL PRAYER TO MEMORIZE AND PRAY FOR OTHERS

The Bible is a prayer book. Every page can be prayed to the Lord. Every truth can form our communication with the Father as we pray for people and situations.

Here is a powerful and beautiful prayer to pray over those you love.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Now—Right now, in this moment, Father.

May the God of Hope—Father, you are the only source of hope. Hope is not a wish but the confident assurance of what You are going to do.

Fill you with joy and peace—Is there anything we want or need more? Father, fill them with hope that brings vibrant joy and restful peace in any circumstance.

In believing—I’m praying that they will truly believe. That they will trust God, for only in that position of trust do we find the hope, joy, and peace we need.

So that you will abound in hope—The word means to “superabound” … I’m praying that they will not only have hope, but superabound in hope.

By the power of the Holy Spirit—I pray that this will happen not through natural means, but through the mighty power that only the Spirit can bring. That this will be a supernatural hope and faith that brings abounding joy and peace.

“Father, I pray for __________, that You (the God of hope) will fill them with vibrant joy and restful peace brought on by their continual trust in You, so that they will superabound in a hope that is produced and given in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

I have known many people who have had great joy and power in the midst of great suffering. It is humbling that the slightest inconveniences deter many of us from following God. We have not gotten to the bottom—settled the issue. Most often, we live for our comfort, reputation, or gain. When any of those goals are touched, we are troubled and discontent.
