DO YOU NEED HELP?

DO YOU NEED HELP?

There is all the help in this life that you need, but it is found in one Source.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb 4:15–16)

O dear friend, He is waiting for you! He is the perfect Helper and Provider. Why is that so? Because He left heaven to be with us. He took upon Himself flesh and blood to be “tempted in all things as we are,” but the astounding result (unlike us) is that He “did not sin.”

Sin is the cause of our failure and pain in this world. Often it is a direct result of our own choices. At other times, our suffering is a byproduct of living in a fallen world. But no matter. Christ is sufficient for all.

OUR SYMPATHIZER

He knows and has felt our weakness. And therefore, He does not reproach or laugh at us when we come to Him in brokenness and need. And that’s why we can “draw near with confidence,” with no doubt or worry that we are accepted in the Beloved or allowed admittance unto the throne.

We can come and what do we find there? We “receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Think of this! All the mercy we need, but then all the enabling grace. Paul faced extraordinary needs, but he discovered that God’s grace was so sufficient that he came to “glory in his weakness” for when he was most weak, God was most present and strong. There is nothing you face that is overwhelming to God's grace. He can lift us and enable us in all.

This, though, is for the believing. Those who mock and ignore God, who think they can handle life by themselves, will be allowed to. And their loss is extraordinary. God is available, if we will come to Him.
