When God is with us, we have everything we need. Everything. Like a great leader who walks into a room filled with needy people and calms every heart, ("Everything will be okay now that he's here), so the presence of Christ gives us all we need.
This should lead us to make drawing near to Him and abiding in His presence the great priority of our lives each day. What if this was your singular focus, and you let everything flow from this intimacy and unceasing communion with Him?
A MASSIVE TASK
God asked Moses to lead His people out of Egypt's cruel slavery into the Promised Land. God would use Moses and his brother, Aaron, as His instruments to accomplish this impossible task. He had made a promise to the Israelite’s fathers and He is always true to His promise. It was now time to accomplish this miraculous task for those God called “My son, my firstborn.”
When called upon, Moses offered multiple objections. One was that he couldn’t speak and didn’t know what to say. Here was God’s reply:
I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will teach you what you are to do. (Exodus 4:15)
What could be better? What substitute could equal God’s mind and voice? When Moses chose to believe in God and join Him in His work, he never again needed to worry about what to say, and always had exactly what each moment required.
YOUR DAY TODAY
Are you worried about a deficiency in your life? Do you feel God is leading you to do something beyond your capabilities? This is right where God wants you to live, for it is here that you must walk in dependency upon Him.
Where God guides, He provides. His presence is all you need.
Father, thank You that as Your follower, you have come to live in Me and promised Your presence. Right now, would you show me any hindrances to your work in and through me? I will gladly agree with You and release them. And would you fill and control me as I rely on You? Show me where you are at work around me today and let me join You, and give me all I need in the moment to be effective. I will gladly give You all the glory for Your work through me.
