How to Save a Nation

How to Save a Nation

"And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?" (Esther 5:14)

Everything has its moment. And in every man or woman's life there are critical moments when they will decide if they are going to rise up and fulfill their God-given destiny.

Esther was a young, Jewish girl who had been miraculously lifted up to be the Queen in the Medio-Persian empire (the largest in the world in its time).

Through a strange plot line, a wicked man in the kingdom had decided to destroy the entire Jewish population. It's amazing how Satan continues to try to orchestrate the genocide of God’s chosen people. Haman, a Satanic pawn, is in a long line of executioners.

Esther has a choice: she can rise up and fulfill her destiny as a deliverer to the Jews, or keep silent and try to save her own skin.

Challenged by a godly mentor and encourager, she steps into the moment, willing to give her life on behalf of her people. And, God uses her mightily.

HEROES

... are what we call men and women like this. We have a special category for this kind of sacrificial service to others.

But you don't have to save a whole nation. You can be the instrument to bring life and deliverance to your family, your neighborhood, your workplace, your community. Maybe even your nation or one life that matters to God.

It just takes a cause bigger than yourself and the willingness to die.

And soon—maybe now—it’s your time.

I have known many people who have had great joy and power in the midst of great suffering. It is humbling that the slightest inconveniences deter many of us from following God. We have not gotten to the bottom—settled the issue. Most often, we live for our comfort, reputation, or gain. When any of those goals are touched, we are troubled and discontent.
