We do everything we do based on its value. If we think something—an object, a course of action, a belief or thought we will hold—will be beneficial to us we will join in, buy it, pursue it. But if not, we will walk the other way. We always turn in hot pursuit of something that we believe will satisfy us.
VALUE
When Paul is calling us to fully surrender our lives to God and be “transformed by the renewing of our mind,” He takes us there by convincing us that if we respond, it will prove something to ourselves and a watching world.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
When our faith is sufficient to lead us to actually follow God’s plan, we will always see that it is “good, acceptable, and perfect.” These words, as always, are important. His will is …
· Good: inherently and intrinsically good. Nothing evil, nothing wrong.
· Acceptable: it is so good that it well be pleasing to us. It has the qualities that will bless us and help in ways that our souls are satisfied, and we realize that His will is the absolutely best step, and,
· Perfect: complete in every way. There is nothing missing. Not a missing part or provision, a thought or a purpose. Nothing else needed. God’s will provides everything that matters and lasts.
This would make perfect sense because of its defining adjective—this is GOD’S will of course—the good, acceptable, and complete God. The One who loves us with an everlasting love; who pursues us relentlessly to bring us into His presence, to restore us to the Garden for eternity … who sent His Son that we might enter into His presence and find His will and experience it forever.
How could it be otherwise? How foolish to look anywhere else.

Many don’t really believe in prayer. We say that we trust in prayer, but our practice indicates our doubt.
