So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Luke 11:9)
If a billionaire invited you to ask for anything from his kingdom with the promise that you would have unlimited access to his riches, would you believe him? The proof of your faith would be in your asking.
Many don’t really believe in God's process. We say that we trust in intercession, but our practice indicates our doubt. We have a mental assent, a theological understanding, but little practical experience. We don’t often ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, and knock and keep on knocking simply because we don't really believe it's true.
For some, it takes years to reach the point where we take God at His word as we should. It’s a mark of mature faith to simply believe Him, that if we ask in accordance with His desires, “it will be given” to us.
But our Faithful Teacher never spoke a single word of falsehood. It is beneath His nature to lie. He is incapable of deception. When instructing us about prayer in Luke 11, He commands us to ask, seek, and knock, and He promises to answer.
Such faith in prayer—such faith in Him—will always be rewarded.

This is only possible with God’s aid. He tells us to draw near to Him, and He will draw near to us. But that approach begins with a plea for His help in this foundational task. It is our most important step of every day and throughout the day. We must be aware of God.
