All of the Scripture is true and helpful, but there are certain passages that resonate deeply with the broad audience. Genesis 1, Psalm 23, Isaiah 6 and 9, Luke 2, Romans 8, Revelation 21-22. And like these blessed, well-worn passages, the 100th Psalm is often seen as the apex of David’s writings.
In five profound verses, under the Spirit’s inspiration, he sums up our approach to God. It calls us higher, each phrase capturing the greatness of our glorious God and informing our approach to Him.
Are you coming to God like this today? If not, what adjustments must be made to enter into His presence with such humble joy?
SHOUT JOYFULLY
"Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth" (Vs. 1)
SERVE GLADLY
"Serve the Lord with gladness" (Vs. )
COME KNOWINGLY
"Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture." (Vs. 3)
We must come to Him daily, hourly knowing…
· He is God and there is no other.
· He made us.
· We are His people.
· We are the sheep of His pasture.
Each of these truths corrects and expands us, humbles and bends us in dependency upon our great Father.
ENTER THANKFULLY
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name." (Vs. 4)
And why should we approach Him with such thanksgiving?
The Lord is good (Vs. 5)
God is inherently and completely good! You need never doubt His goodness, regardless of what you see or what the world and devil say around you about Him.
His lovingkindness is everlasting (Vs. 5)
He is loving and kind and this lasts forever. There is never a time in which He is not this way!
His faithfulness is to all generations. (Vs. 5)
He is completely faithful to His promises and all He has said. You can count on Him to always be the same and true to His nature!
It would be the wisest practice to read the Old 100th often, to memorize so it is ready on your heart and tongue. It is the constant reminder we need of our Creator, King, and Father!

Many don’t really believe in prayer. We say that we trust in prayer, but our practice indicates our doubt.

When our faith is sufficient to lead us to actually follow God’s plan, we will always see that it is “good, acceptable, and perfect.” These words, as always, are important.

God knows what He is about. Always include in your request the greatest prayer—the prayer of surrender. “Lord, Your will be done.” This is the prayer, when humbly prayed, that will always be answered and yield the most valuable result from the God who loves us best ... even if the answer is hard.
