Where do you live? You may respond to that with an address, defining the physical place of your primary dwelling. You go to many places, but you live there.
Moses reminds us in this Psalm that God himself has been the dwelling place of his true children forever. It is only in him that we are at rest, at home, safe and secure.

The book of Numbers in the Scripture begins with a seemingly laborious account of a census taken of all the Israelites after they came out of Egypt. But this very accounting has a purpose. As always, it teaches us something about God.

In the beginning of the Israelite’s occupation of the Promised Land, God put certain rules in order. They were rules that would provide for the maximum yield of the land and would also ensure against a worldly, materialistic view of the land and all we possess.

The great enemy of our souls, Satan, is a liar and the genesis of every untruth known to man. His singular target is God. This started in the Garden, for Satan knew that if he could get this new generation to doubt the goodness of God, they would not trust Him. And if they did not trust Him, they would not follow Him and God’s plan to create a nation of people in His image would be destroyed (or so Satan reasoned).

There is confusion among many Christians regarding the Old Testament laws. There are some laws that we realize we are not bound by in our era. Most of these are particular CEREMONIAL laws that were tied to a pre-Christ system. These laws, given to the Jews, were designed to fulfill the spirit of the law, but done in ways that pictured the coming Christ.
