In scientific equations there are certain elements that cause certain reactions. If those elements are not present, you do not have what you intended. For instance, if you take hydrogen out the equation of H2O, you will not have water, one of the most essential combination of elements in the universe.
FAITH
... is the essential element for the believer. And faith, in itself, has several parts. You must believe in your head (intellectually accepting things as God says), you must embrace with your heart (spiritual trust), and you must step out physically in response, walking and talking as if what God says is really true. All of these components form you into a person of faith. And faith is God's one and only operating system with His children.
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
BY FAITH
... and only by faith, the believer accomplishes what is necessary. Like two parts hydrogen to one-part oxygen, it creates with God an equation that gives us everything we need and gives those around us what they are longing for.
And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. (Hebrews 12:32-34)
Here is the equation for a believer upon which everything depends: FGx. One part our faith and combined with the infinity of God. When that combination occurs everything changes.
God is so intent upon this equation that he puts His children in daily—sometimes hourly—circumstances that push us to join with Him in dependency. If we do not, the required results will not occur. In this light, your problems are in reality mere opportunities to see God manifest Himself as you trust Him. Look for these, for everything in your life is designed to lead you into greater and greater trust. As you learn to trust in God and His promises, you will be part of an equation that changes the world.
Father, thank You that You have designed me to walk in faith-filled union with You. Help me to see every experience of my life as a faith moment. Let me not resent these issues as intruders, but welcome them as friends designed to produce in me the quality of faith so that I may experience You and the world may see Your faithfulness.
