It’s possible to so sin against your conscience, violating what you know to be true and right so often that you form deep callouses there. You are no longer bothered by evil--done by yourself or others.

The most usable man is he who listens to the Lord and responds instantly. His conscience is clear before God and man--both vertically and horizontally.

If we fail to forgive and seek to retaliate, the “correcting” of the one who offended us is in our hands. And we’re terribly deficient in our ability to accomplish the right results. In fact, we can do great harm both to others and ourselves. Often our efforts put is in the prison of unforgiveness and even bitterness.
