We are in the middle of one more dramatic presidential election. Every four years, we must decide between two very imperfect people to give leadership to our nation. It’s a privilege to be in a land where we can do this. But the drama, deception, and politcizing of these human elections is increasingly exhausting. And we don’t know what really goes on behind the scenes.
That’s why I’m voting for Jesus this November.

That's the big question, isn't it? Like no other time in recent history, those of us who know the Lord are watching the rapid disintegration of our society. So, what do we do?

It does not have to be with fantastical manifestations (although He is capable of that), but the conscious awareness of His presence each day is the manna we need. His presence satisifies, corrects, comforts, leads, and empowers us. Everything flows from His presence and to have Him is to have it all.

God is making Himself known. He is preparing for what we can hopefully believe could be a worldwide movement of spiritual awakening. Asbury gave us faith to believe it could happen in our city, our campus, our nation.

If you are a true follower of Christ, you long to grow, but you also have a passion to help others grow. We are often intimidated by the thought of “discipling/mentoring” someone else, even though it’s our most important task and highest calling. But what if there was an incredibly simple and effective way for anyone to use?

You can ignore this or explain it away, but if you seek Him, you will find Him. Do not seek revival … seek Him. And as you do, He will put a new song on your lips that you cannot stop singing.

This is the heart of revival, both personal and corporate. Revival intimates two things have occurred: a drifting and a return. We have wandered from Christ. Our hearts have become cold and lifeless. To be revived is to be brought back to that which is life itself. It’s not a return to a program or a discipline. It is to fall in love with Jesus all over again. It is a repentance unto Him.

Is prayer a nice thing to do? Something we resort to when we are in a serious situation? A word to describe one of the disciplines of the Christian life? Secondary, but not really all that essential? Something we do as a segue between songs on a Sunday morning? Or is it the essence? The foundation? The fragrance that is to pervade everything for the serious follower of Jesus? The ultimate pathway to communion with God and the source of life and power for all we are and do?

Why should we pray fervently for the blessing of a nationwide or worldwide spiritual awakening? Why should we unite (as Jonathan Edwards said) in “explicit agreement and visible union among God’s people in extraordinary prayer for a revival of religion and the advancement of Christ’s kingdom on earth?” Why should we seek to cooperate together and not tear apart the beginnings of His awakening in our nation?

We all have our responses to what’s happened. Some may ignore or even criticize, but most Christians are asking, “What about my church, my campus, Lord?” And, more humbly, “What about me?”

Tend days ago the doors were closed at midnight in Hughes Auditorium at Asbury University. It was the final service open to the public in what had been an unbelievable 16-day, 24/7 invasion of God upon the campus. Students came from over 200 campuses across the nation out of their thirst for God. The final Collegiate Day of Prayer broadcast went to millions across the world.
But is the revival over?

The extraordinary movement that has happened at Asbury in the last weeks has had many commentators. Thousands are beside themselves with joy and hope, for they sense that God is answering their prayers (some who’ve prayed for decades.) But there are many skeptics also, and some who are adamantly opposed and unbelieving about this unusual activity of God.
