The Word of God is so accurate, complete, and powerful. If we will simply follow God’s directives, all of life will be changed. We will live life with joy and purpose as God intended.
Look at 25 words in 4 verses penned by Paul under God’s inspiration. Adjusting your life to cooperate with God in these ways would transform you this week … and throughout your life!
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-19)
REJOICE ALWAYS
Not occasionally, but in everything, all day long, all the time. Why could this possibly be true? Because God is sovereign. Because all things work together for good to those who love Him. Because there’s nothing beyond His control and no demand made on your life that is not made on the Christ within you. As you walk through the day today, rejoice in everything!
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
If you would make the choice to commune with God continually today you would have encouragement, instruction, perspective. You would be setting your mind on the things above and would see things no one around you is seeing. You would live by God-initiation and discover that His will is good, acceptable, and perfect!
IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS
We can do this because there is nothing that happens to you today that is beyond the scope of His will. But giving thanks is a CHOICE.
DO NOT QUENCH THE SPIRIT
If you are praying without ceasing, God will be telling you what to do in every moment. So, don’t resist. Don’t quench His promptings by despising (treating lightly, ignoring) His utterances to you. When He speaks, obey His promptings and the illumination of His Word. Cooperate aggressively with the Spirit.
It really is this simple. Four things. Rejoice, pray, give thanks, obey. All made possible by the Christ who lives within you.
Now, go out and face the day!

When our faith is sufficient to lead us to actually follow God’s plan, we will always see that it is “good, acceptable, and perfect.” These words, as always, are important.

God knows what He is about. Always include in your request the greatest prayer—the prayer of surrender. “Lord, Your will be done.” This is the prayer, when humbly prayed, that will always be answered and yield the most valuable result from the God who loves us best ... even if the answer is hard.

Every created man or woman must make their choice. What will you do with God? Will you embrace or reject Him? Draw near or run away? Trust and serve Him or doubt God and serve yourself? This foundational choice determines everything.
