Most people live their lives in fear. Fear of the future, fear of man, fear of death, fearful that no one will accept or approve of them, fear that they don't have what it takes … and the list goes on. You can try to compensate for this fear with the multiple ways that the world offers. Or, you can position yourself, by God’s grace, in the one place where there is no fear.
If you will admit your sin and need and come to Christ, He will save you and accept you. You will have immediate and continual access to the throne of God to find all the mercy and grace you need to face anything and everything in life. And, along with that access, you will gain the greatest Advocate and Helper possible—the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
If you think this is impossible, just read what the God-breathed Bible says:
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16)
We can come with absolute confidence (no fear) and stand before God to receive all we need. And, standing beside us is our Elder Brother, who has gone through everything with perfect success and knows exactly how to help us and strengthen us. In addition, when we come to believe in Him, He places His Spirit in us (literally) to empower us to face anything. We are joined together with the Father, Son, and Spirit to face this life, our inevitable death, and the life beyond.
You can live the rest of your life in fear, vainly trying the world’s insufficient means of relief. Or, you can come to Christ and receive all He has been waiting to give you. This, and this alone, is the supreme antidote for fear!

Imagine a child created by God and for whom He had sent His only begotten Son to redeem and His Spirit to indwell. And then imagine that child ignoring Him, never communing, never praying, never listening, never obeying. And then realize how an attentive, unceasing life of prayer would delight the heart of the Father who made you.

Spending hours in solitude with God alone is foreign to us. We are not familiar with God. He is, for most, a distant entity, not an every day Father.

What is more important to you than anything else? Check your values, for they will drive you this year. And what value is it if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul?
