SELFISHNESS

SELFISHNESS

Abram and His nephew, Lot provide an amazing contrast. When the time came where they needed to separate because the land was too small, Abram responded with gracious generosity.

Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; if to the right I will go to the left. Genesis 13:9

Lot should have deferred to his uncle. But instead, "Lot chose FOR HIMSELF" the best part of the land" (vs. 11)

Lot did not know that there is always an Unseen Observer to all our transactions. God rewarded Abram for his unselfishness. Lot went down to Sodom, and we know the rest of his story.

Selfishness never ends well.

When you are faced with such choices, bless and serve others. Defer, give, and trust the Father who feeds the birds. And sit back and watch how God always gives the best to those who leave the choice up to Him!
