Life is self-discovery. From the beginning, we are learning who we really are. There are multiple voices in this world that push in to deceive you about your true identity. But, the right understanding of yourself determines everything about yourself.
For instance ...
But, if you have come to see yourself as lost and separated from God, and if—by God's grace—you have turned and believed in Christ for life and are spiritually reborn, you have a whole new dimension that must be discovered about yourself.
ONE SIMPLE SENTENCE
... of self-description, for instance, changes everything for the believer.
For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority (Colossians 2:9-10)
Look at these new facts about you (whether you realize them or not):
It makes absolute since to understand that if Christ is IN YOU, (which is what being a true believer is all about), then you have everything. His mind, His power, His enabling, His wisdom, His resources, His love. All this resides in you, for Christ is in You and You are in Him.
You may be believing the old lies about your identity. You made not be living up to your spiritual potential. You may not be accessing all you have in Christ. But do not make the tragic mistake of thinking that you do not have all you need ... that you are not complete in Christ. That would be thinking less of yourself than is true, and less of Christ than is true.

Everything in your life and your future depends upon where you place the Lord. Notice the Psalmist David indicateD it is our deliberate choice and no one else’s. No one can do this for you. “I have SET … I PLACE the Lord in front of me.”

Imagine a child created by God and for whom He had sent His only begotten Son to redeem and His Spirit to indwell. And then imagine that child ignoring Him, never communing, never praying, never listening, never obeying. And then realize how an attentive, unceasing life of prayer would delight the heart of the Father who made you.
