Humans are great forgettors. We are easily distracted and quickly lose sight of the most important things. The pull of the world, the weakness of our flesh, and the lies of the Enemy are constantly pulling us away from the One we should remember most: God Himself.
But God is the Creator and Source of everything. He is to be worshiped and served continually. And we need reminders to help us stay undistracted in our devotion to Him.

There are many things I do in my Christian life. But all of these pale in comparison to one central issue which can be captured in the ultimate question.
Do I love Jesus?

The Son of God was willing to go to the hardest, most misunderstood place. He went, with His cross, to die outside the city. It was a place of refuse (literally, the city dump). It was the most dishonorable environment in the city. But He went there for a purpose: to take the place of sacrifice, suffering, and self-denial so that, in so doing, it would bring life to others.
And, it worked. His self-denial set countless millions free!

True believers live in two worlds. Wise believers have increasingly released their hold on this world knowing that the next is far more valuable. They see themselves as "strangers and exiles on the earth.”

All of us live with lots of fear in life. One of the greatest fears is “Do I have what it takes?” We want to know—as a man/woman, dad/mom, husband/wife, employee/employer, student/teacher—do I have what it takes to do what’s required?
The answer of course, is “no.” On your own you are completely incapable. In fact, Jesus said that, apart from Him, you could do nothing (John 15).
But with Him, we can do anything! “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me,” Paul said (Philippians 4:13).

The Word of God is so accurate, complete, and powerful. If we will simply follow God’s directives, all of life will be changed. We will live life with joy and purpose as God intended.
Look at 25 words in 4 verses penned by Paul under God’s inspiration. Adjusting your life to cooperate with God in these ways would transform you this week … and throughout your life!

Many of us find ourselves wasting time, which is our most precious commodity. When combined through a week (or a life) we spend thousands of hours doing senseless things and wonder why we don’t get the most important things done.
Just think of wasting 2 hours a day on something mindless and worthless (which is easy to do). That’s 14 hours a week (almost two whole workdays!) Over a year that’s 730 hours, or 91 8-hr workdays! 3 full months of workdays are wasted!

Pay attention to holiness. Be intentional about all He has already said to you. Set aside deliberate time to fast, pray, and read and meditate on His Word. Be extremely careful about your obedience.
And then, cry out to Him for greater intimacy. For as clear as His conditions are for you to see Him, they are clearly promised! He desires to reveal Himself to you more than you are aware for He is a God of perfect love towards you.
