What is the truly Christian life? What is the experience of the Christ follower? And what is their purpose?
As Paul is giving the account of his conversion before an angry crowd in Jerusalem, he relates what Ananias told him at his conversion. It describes what Paul was to experience. Notice, that all of these things are not merely intellectual, but practical and experiential.

One day in heaven we will marvel at the activity of God. He is sovereign and perfect and never evil. He sees all, but for the man who trusts and follows Him explicitly, he will be led in "all the right paths for God's name's sake." The will of God will be done, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. And sometimes, he can even use the evil of this world to get us there.

Every serious Christian I know wants to live rightly. To live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and a blessing to others. To have an impact for the Kingdom of God. How do we fulfill this huge desire? There are so many enemies to God's way. Our flesh is so weak, the devil is so deceptive, and the world is so pervasive.

It’s our greatest dilemma. We don’t know what to do. All of us face moments and seasons when we are perplexed about the next steps. When we are confused or wandering.
This is why the Bible is so important. It is God’s Word directly to us. The Holy Spirit is given to the willing follower so that he/she might “freely know the things given to us by God.” It is a “lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.”

There is a daily routine that is missing in most believer's life. It has not yet been programmed into the mind's computer because we have not done it enough to let it become habitual. The tragedy is, for the Christian and unbeliever alike, it is the most important habit of our lives.

There are over 7,000 promises in the Bible that are given by God to man. This promise is one of epic proportions because it stands at 20,000 feet looking over the whole course of a believer's life. It explains the correlation of good and evil. It gives hope for the Divine weaving that is going on in the entire tapestry of our lives … a tapestry with both dark threads and light.

I am a new man and I will never, ever be the same again. The old man is forever gone (the man without Christ) and I am free at last!

Tozer said that "What you know about God is the most important thing about you." Right behind that knowledge, though, is what you know about yourself.
Do you know who you are? Paul did. Often in the opening lines of his letters to the churches he would give a one-sentence description that summed up his life. To the Romans, he summed it up in 17 words.

"There is nothing so tragic as a merely formal Christian," Martyn Lloyd-Jones said. Nothing so disappointing as a person who once basked in the joy of the Lord but has now discovered that his love has grown cold.

I long for a bit of normal. Heading to church with a full room of our friends. No masks. No COVID. No bitter election season. No sickness. No anger. No riots. No empty football stands with silly cardboard cutouts and piped in fan noise (who thought of that?) No hypocrisy by me or anyone else.

How do you see yourself? A mature man has come to the humble knowledge that he is nothing without Christ and everything with Christ. He is a mere branch on a glorious Vine, but he has been fearfully and wonderfully and uniquely made by the Creator, designed for great achievements by God’s grace. This wise balance allows him to live powerfully, but dependently in life.

We spend our lives trying to gain certain things and are full of joy when we get them. Our first car, our first job, our first home. Reputation and prestige and influence. The list is long. But, is it possible to have all those things and not have the most important thing? Here’s what the Apostle Paul said:
