DID YOU KNOW THE FATHER, SON, AND SPIRIT HAVE WORKED ON YOUR BEHALF?

God has existed for all of eternity. He has no beginning and no end. Such a thought is beyond our linear thinking. But just because God created us in time, and we operate in time it doesn’t mean that time is not suspended for God. He is eternal.

And He is eternally 3-in-1. The clear doctrine of the triune nature of God is taught throughout the Scripture. Father, Son, and Spirit are one in nature and three in function. They have ever lived in perfect union and perfect fellowship.

GOD CREATED MAN

This is clear from the beginning. It was God’s good pleasure to make man in His image and invite this created one into fellowship with the triune God. But there was one requirement for Adam: he could not be God. He was not God and therefore should take his rightful place under God’s rule.

Adam, with the free will that God gave him, rebelled, and was separated from this union with God (Father, Son, and Spirit). His sin caused him to be cast from God’s presence and favor.

IT’S TIME

At the perfect moment in human history, God said to the Son, “Go get them,” and God sent forth His Son.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5, NLT)

The Son laid aside His God-powers (although always and fully God) so He could become a man, face every temptation without sin, and be able to die in our place, paying the penalty for our sin.

He lived, as a man, filled with the Holy Spirit. Just as we would one day live, this man chose perfect dependency upon the Father and was filled (controlled, led) by the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God. And, in that submission He faced the cross He said, “Not my will but Thine be done.” The Spirit empowered Him to make this choice and endure the cross.

After the full sacrifice had been given, God again said, “It’s time!” and Jesus burst from the grave, victorious over sin, death, and hell. The work to provide a way back into the Throne room with God was now done.

FOR US

But there is one more person mentioned in this glorious verse.

Christ offered Himself, to God as a perfect sacrifice for OUR sins. (vs. 14)

This Divine work was accomplished for someone. It was designed to provide a way for all those who would one day believe, to enter again into the fellowship of Father, Son, and Spirit, never to be interrupted again. Father, Son, and Spirit worked on your behalf. They did this perfect work to bring you back home where you belong.

Just pause prayerfully and ponder this and rise gratefully to meet the day! Live your life in praise for this great work and for His glory. And don’t miss today the glorious fellowship that the triune God has worked for you to experience with Him.

Father, thank You for creating me. Jesus, thank You for providing the means for my salvation at great sacrifice s. Thank You for choosing as a man to obey Your Father. Spirit, thank You for empowering Christ to do this great task and then working in me to bring me to a profound change of mind (repentance) so that I would be cleansed from the inside out through Christ by faith. And thank You for inviting me back into fellowship with You, the triune God!

God knows us. He gives us what we need when we need it. Even when we have blown it royally, He reminds us of His resurrected and powerful life—a life we enjoy because He lives in us. A life that lifts us up and encourages us, meeting us right where we are. A life that makes us usable, even with our imperfections.
