He brought us out from there to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers. (Deuteronomy 6:23)
God always has an agenda that is perfect in every detail. If we are willing to follow Him, we will be privileged to join in this great movement.
OUR SPIRITUAL ANCESTORS
… experienced this. God chose the nation of Israel to experience His movements. One of the greatest moments of their history was their deliverance from the bondage of Egypt. This miracle occurred in ways that the Israelites should have never forgotten.
But we are all great forgetters. God warns the Israelites over and over again to remember. They were to remember His deliverance, but there was more. God had “brought them out” of Egypt to “bring them in” to the Promised Land. They were going from something to something better. It is the principle of spiritual replacement.
YOUR JOURNEY WITH GOD
If you trust Him and follow the prompting of His Spirit and the illumination of His Word, you will find the same principle in play. You are led from sin to righteousness. From defeat to victory. From tragedy to deliverance. From the enemy’s plan to steal, kill, and destroy, to life and life abundantly, as Jesus said in John 10:10.
Every step of our spiritual journey is designed to take us from something to something greater. Even the final chapter of this earthly life is from the bondage of this world to the glories of heaven.
We must never forget when God is taking something away from us, it is so that something better can be given in its place. Don’t hold on to the leeks and onions of Egypt when God has promised the milk and honey of the Promised Land.
Father, thank You for the perfection of Your work in us. Help us trust You more. Deliver us from the small thinking that what we have and where we are is the best. Help us understand that there is always more with You and give us a joyful faith to follow.

We all are interested in finding the highest and best use of our lives. Books are written, and seminars attended to try to learn our niche—what we can do to maximize our lives.
But there is only One who understands your true destiny. And you might be surprised at His evaluation. Tragically, many never encounter nor consult Him and miss their Divinely-ordained purpose.

We are not joyful and full of thanksgiving because of our misdirected vision. We spend our days only looking at ourselves, or our tragically fallen world, or at others (constantly concerned about what they think of us.)
We must lift our gaze. The secret to joy is a constant look at the Father, Son, and Spirit.
