The great Enemy of God has gone to extraordinary lengths to paint a false picture of our Father. As a liar and the father of all lies, he’s good at his task. He knows that if he can distort the image of God in the mind of man, God’s created beings will never trust Him.
A COMING DAY
But, there is coming a day when all of this will be revealed for what it is. Isaiah prophesies in Isaiah 23-27 about God's final judgment upon this earth. On that day, every evil will be rightfully punished and destroyed. It will be a day of inescapable judgment on those who have opposed God, every ruler and nation who has sought their own way. Final justice will be accomplished and evil eradicated from this earth. Men who have rejected God will sadly receive what they've always wanted, a place where they will live without any of the goodness of God.
The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the Lord has spoken this word. The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away. The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. Isaiah 24:3-6)
But for the faithful follower of Christ, it will be what we have waited for; the ultimate and eternal world that God has promised.
He will swallow up death for all time, and the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, and He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25:8)
As Isaiah speaks of this coming day, he breaks forth in praise for God’s faithfulness.
O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. (Isaiah 25:1)
UNTIL THAT DAY
… we will wait for His final judgments and rewards, His ultimate, complete salvation for all who have trusted in Him. And we will believe in His perfect faithfulness. God is perfectly faithful, in both justice and mercy.
And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation. For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain. (Isaiah 25:9-10)
Father, thank You that You are perfectly on time. You will judge the earth, rectifying every wrong and cleansing the world through Your perfect judgments. Until that day, Lord, help us wait patiently with hope and joy, even in the midst of this present darkness and the lies of Your ancient Enemy. Make us bold in our witness to others of this coming day, Father, for it will come with perfect precision. Help us share the hope that is found for all those who have faithfully trusted You.
