How we see things is most always through the lens of our particular perspective, our bias. And, it's not always right. This is why it is so critical to be a man who has humbled himself and listened to God. A man who sees all of life through God's eyes finds the right perspective. And this changes everything.
Joseph was such a man. It is why his story stands out in human history. Joseph was used by God to deliver the Israelite nation in a time of famine. Indeed, he was used to save the whole world from worldwide famine. God used his brothers’ bitterness and hatred to get Joseph to Egypt and place him in a position where this could happen. Joseph could have been bitter at his brothers for their cruelty, but instead, he saw and embraced the sovereignty of God in all these affairs.
When a man humbly submits to God's will for his life and embraces God's sovereignty, everything changes. Everything is seen differently, including the hardest issues of life. Such a man realizes that God oversees everything in his life, and even the worst and hardest events can produce a redemptive purpose. He works all things together for good.
Any bitterness or anger at God or man can be laid aside as we see what God is doing. Our hearts are at rest, and we are in a position to be greatly used by God.
Look back over your life. What circumstances, and even sufferings, of your life would be completely re-interpreted by you if you saw them through the lens of God’s perspective and purpose?

God knows what He is about. Always include in your request the greatest prayer—the prayer of surrender. “Lord, Your will be done.” This is the prayer, when humbly prayed, that will always be answered and yield the most valuable result from the God who loves us best ... even if the answer is hard.

Every created man or woman must make their choice. What will you do with God? Will you embrace or reject Him? Draw near or run away? Trust and serve Him or doubt God and serve yourself? This foundational choice determines everything.

As you evaluate your faith, is it “God and?” God and others. God and the world’s ideas. God and my best thoughts thrown in. God and some money. God and a clear path. Or simply: God. Are you vainly clinging to the idea that you need more than Him?
