TIME PROVES GOD'S FAITHFULNESS

It’s hard to trust the Lord in the middle of a journey. When the destination is not yet reached and obstacles abound, our willingness to follow God wherever He leads is only accomplished by faith.

Faith is not a blind leap but is taking the next step, believing in the promises of a faithful God. And time always rewards us with the reality of God’s faithfulness.

SOLOMON’S VIEW
In 1 Kings 8, Solomon prays, as the temple he built is dedicated to God. He begins with this wonderful blessing:

“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant.” (1 Kings 8:56)

Many years had transpired since God empowered Moses to lead the people from 400 years of bondage in Egypt. They struck out, step-by-step, believing that God had promised a land to them. That they would have rest from their enemies and dwell in a land of milk and honey.

DOUBTERS
Along the way, many doubted. In fact, the whole nation, except for two men, chose not to believe God, and they never entered Israel, balking at the size of their enemies. But God was faithful. He accomplished His promise. Now Solomon stands at the end of that story, the culmination of the promise, and blesses God for His finished work.

God can be trusted. His promises to us are just as real as those to Moses. You may not see the fulfillment of His promise to you in your lifetime. Many of the women and men of faith listed in Hebrews 11 did not. But human years never defeat God. He is never in a hurry, but always on time.

Father, help me to believe You today. Let me rest on Your manifold promises and keep walking by faith. And thank You, once again, for the perfection of Your faithfulness.

SETTLING THE ISSUE OF WHY YOU LIVE
SETTLING THE ISSUE OF WHY YOU LIVE

I have known many people who have had great joy and power in the midst of great suffering. It is humbling that the slightest inconveniences deter many of us from following God. We have not gotten to the bottom—settled the issue. Most often, we live for our comfort, reputation, or gain. When any of those goals are touched, we are troubled and discontent.
